The MPP1700M is a 3RU rack mount HD/SD Multichannel H.264/MPEG2 Video/Audio Encoder - IPTV Media Processing Platform. It is a high density blade style system for IPTV transport.

MPP1700M can be filled with any (or any combination) of the following blade encoder modules:

  • AVN220 - MPEG-2 SD Encoder with Composite and S-Video inputs and IPTV output (up to 17 modules)
  • AVN420 - H.264 SD Encoder with Composite and S-Video inputs and IPTV output (up to 17 modules)
  • AVN441HD - H.264 HD/SD Encoder with Component and HDMI inputs and IPTV output (up to 8 modules)
  • AVN443HD - H.264 HD/SD Encoder with HD-SDI and HDMI inputs and IPTV output (up to 8 modules)

MPEG-2 SD encoding (AVN220)

Video Encoding Features:

  • 1 to 17 fully independent channels with Composite & S-Video inputs and IP output (unicast, muticast, IGMP support) per channel
  • Frame rates: 25 fps (PAL), 30 fps (NTSC)
  • Available image resolutions:
    • NTSC: 720x480, 480x480, 352x480, 352x240
    • PAL: 720x576, 480x576, 352x576, , 352x288
  • Rate Control: configurable 1.5 to 15 Mbps

Audio Encoding Features (per channel):

  • Audio input for Balanced and Unbalanced connections
  • MPEG-1 Layer 2 encoding, bit rates: 256 or 384 Kbps with a 48 KHz sample rate.
  • User control of audio parameters, including mute, pre-amp and volume.

Control Features:

  • WEB interface, Console Interface, API
  • RS232, RS422 – full duplex

H.264 SD encoding (AVN420)

Video Encoding Features:

  • 1 to 17 fully independent channels with Composite & S-Video inputs and IP output (unicast, muticast, IGMP support) per channel
  • Frame rates: 25 fps (PAL), 30 fps (NTSC)
  • Available image resolutions:
    • NTSC: 720x480, 480x480, 320x480, 320x240, 160x120
    • PAL: 720x576, 576x576, 360x576, 360x288, 176x144
  • Rate Control: configurable 0.1 to 4 Mbps

Audio Encoding Features (per channel):

  • Audio input for Balanced and Unbalanced connections
  • MPEG-1 Layer 2 encoding, bit rates: 256 or 384 Kbps with a 48 KHz sample rate or
  • AAC, bit rates: 8 to 384 with a 48 KHz sample rate
  • User control of audio parameters, including mute, pre-amp and volume.

H.264 HD/SD encoding (AVN 441HD, AVN443HD)

Video Encoding Features:

  • 1 to 8 fully independent channels with Component, HD-SDI and HDMI inputs and IP output (unicast, muticast, IGMP support) per channel
  • HD Video H.264 MPEG-4 AVC Compression:
    • High Profile at level 4 (HP@L4)
    • Rate Control: configurable 4 to 20 Mbps (720p), 6 to 20 Mbps (1080i, 1080p)
  • SD Video H.264 MPEG-4 AVC Compression:
    • Main Profile at level 3 (MP@L3)
    • Rate Control: configurable 2 to 20 Mbps

Audio Encoding Features (per channel):

  • Audio input for Balanced and Unbalanced connections, HDMI and HD-SDI embedded.
  • MPEG-1 Layer 2 stereo encoding, bit rates: 128 or 384 Kbps with a 48 KHz sample rate, or
  • AAC, bit rates: 128 to 512 Kbps with a 48 KHz sample rate
  • User control of audio parameters, including mute, pre-amp and volume.
